Best Business Practices For Promoting Your Business LIVE
Q1: I'm too scared to livestream, is this course for me?
A1: Absolutely. I wasn't always comfortable on camera either. I interviewed several well-known YouTuber Content Creators about the livestream feature, and 90% of them were nervous about being so transparent on livestream too!
Now, they are happy they just did it. Sharing your authentic story - even when you're nervous - attracts people who want to get to know the real you and your business. They will show up again and again to support you - someone who they can relate to. After all, people buy from who they know, like and trust.
Q2: Do I have to look camera-ready all the time? Seems like a lot of work!
A2: The great thing about livestream video is that it is supposed to be more personal and laid back than pre-recorded video. My best advice would be to just be yourself and get comfortable with sharing a natural side of you and your business. It humanizes your brand and makes people feel like they really know you. Refer to Answer 1.
Q3: What about slow internet?
A3: Yes! The struggle is real. Do your best to check the signal in advance. There are free apps in your mobile phone app store that allow you to test your signal before going live. If you don't want to download another app, either do a test livestream to say hello and announce your upcoming stream, or if the social media platform offers it, do a preview stream to test the signal strength. Even then, we sometimes get surprises, so I always ask my viewers to "press 1" if their signal is good. The confirmation not only let's me know it's okay to keep going, but also improves viewer engagement. Once someone makes their first comment, they are more likely to comment again.
Q4: I'm nervous in front of crowds. Do you think I can do this?
A4: Yes, if it helps, when live-streaming from your desktop computer or from your mobile device, you could be the only person in the room. Pretend you are talking to one friend - but answer all of the questions you receive as best you can. If seeing the numbers climb in the viewer stats makes you nervous, put a sticker over it. It's a good problem to have though.
Q5: What if I do all the work of setting up my livestream and nobody watches.
A5: I have a secret for you. It's all about the replay. Be prepared to answer livestream questions, but if there are no questions or comments, still go over the information for the replay viewers who will often be your much larger audience. Just make sure your title and branding make it easy for them to find you online.
Q6: How do I get started?
A6: Because this course is self-paced, you can take as long as you need to complete each module. I've kept it simple enough to complete in 3 hours - depending on how often you stop to check social media notifications. *wink*
Q7: How long do I have access to the course?
A7: Once you sign up, the course is yours to keep as long as you are subscribed. Check your course every month to see if I added any surprise updates for you!
